How we review
Sector Gaming TV publishes independent video game criticism. Each article identifies its author, date, platforms, and reviewed version.
Editorial states
- Final review: an evaluation of a version considered final, with a required score.
- Preview: first impressions without a score.
- Early Access: coverage of a work-in-progress build. It may include a score clearly labelled as provisional.
Early Access articles may be shared with aggregators as coverage, but their provisional rating is not supplied as a final review score.
Scoring scale
- 9-10: essential or excellent within its genre.
- 7-8: recommended, solid, with minor issues.
- 5-6: decent or uneven, mainly for specific audiences.
- 0-4: problematic, incomplete, or difficult to recommend.
Transparency
New articles include a discreet disclosure stating whether access was purchased, supplied as a review code, provided through a subscription, offered as a demo, or granted through a preview or event. Commercial relationships never determine coverage or scores.
Independence, embargoes, and conflicts
No publisher, developer, or sponsor may approve or alter our editorial copy before publication. We may accept reasonable embargoes. Writers must disclose relevant personal or financial conflicts, and coverage is reassigned when appropriate.
Corrections and score changes
We correct factual errors and add an update note when the change is material. A score changes only after a substantial game update or a complete re-evaluation; the previous score and reason remain publicly documented.
Editing and translations
Writers prepare drafts, while the editorial lead approves or schedules scored reviews. Automatic English translations remain drafts until reviewed and inherit the Spanish source status, score, and disclosure.
