[ESPECIAL] Entrevista a Javier Ramello de Herobeat Studios, desarrolladores de Endling
Episode notes
In this special episode, Sector Gaming Podcast interviews Javier Ramello, CEO and co-founder of Herobeat Studios, about his professional background, the creation of the studio, and the development of Endling. Ramello explains how he went from studying computer science and working as a programmer to pursuing his own project with Pablo Hernández. He also discusses the challenges of assembling a team, financing an indie studio, and finding senior profiles in the Spanish industry, as well as public funding and collaboration between studios.
The conversation focuses especially on Endling, which was still in development at the time of the interview. Ramello presents its premise: a mother fox, the last of her species, must feed and protect her three cubs in a devastated world. They discuss the cubs’ progression, their abilities, the Metroidvania-style structure, the sandbox design, and the use of the animal’s senses to guide the experience. The episode also covers Gamescom, publisher support, marketing, the Steam wishlist, and the absence of an announced release date. It additionally includes a test about video game preferences and opinions.
