Sector Gaming ft. Iniciativa Zelda // #01 - ¿Cómo nació Zelda?
Episode notes
First episode of the Iniciativa Zelda, devoted to explaining how the series began. The program reviews Nintendo’s transition from board games to electronic devices, Shigeru Miyamoto’s arrival, and works such as Sheriff and Donkey Kong. It then covers the Famicom and the parallel development alongside Super Mario Bros. of the concept that would become The Legend of Zelda: a connected world, exploration, real-time action, and an adventure starring Link and Zelda. The shared chronology of the universe is also discussed, including its division into three timelines after Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild’s place within that history. The participants assess Zelda’s influence on game design, open maps, exploration, dungeons, and so-called Zelda-like games, as well as its art direction and use of cel shading. The episode includes a personal top three featuring A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Link's Awakening. Finally, differing opinions about Breath of the Wild are compared, followed by a discussion of the series’ expansion, diversification, and possible future evolution.
